MDC® provided Project and Construction Management Consulting Services for the development of a 5-star hotel, office building and retail site in Barcelona, Spain.

The hotel complex included a 42-story, 456-room hotel and 29-room apartment tower surrounded by a multi-story podium containing support facilities for the hotel and apartments, a swimming pool, indoor/outdoor recreational facilities, vehicular loading dock and service areas and other amenities.

Serving as the owner's representative for the construction of Stage One of this project, the scope of work included the following services:

• Evaluated the status of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing contracts.
• Provided on-site management to evaluate the overall completion schedule of the project.
• Prepared a construction completion schedule to support the opening of the main areas of the hotel in a five-month timeframe.
• Managed construction operations under the completion schedule until opening of the hotel.

The project was successfully completed in time for the mandated opening date.
